JUN 02:  ZOE HOUSE

280x280_zh.gif

Our collection for the month of June will be for the Dream Center's Zoe House which recently opened in Washington.  Zoe House will provide up to 5 first-time moms (at a time) with a place to stay and 24/7 support.  From their website...

"This is a home where the moms can discover stability as they learn practical life skills like healthy parenting, grocery shopping, cooking, budgeting/finance, and healthy relationships.  They will have the opportunity to finish school or a training program, find a job, and grow in confidence during their stay with us."

Zoe House has asked that we collect anything a baby might need in their first 18 months of life - diapers, diaper cream, baby lotion, wipes, bottles, burp cloths, sleepers, etc.  Please bring your items to the June 2nd worship service - we will have collection bins near the entrance.

JUN 02:  SENIOR SUNDAY

280x280_gj.gif

Bridge family, when you're at church on Sunday please take a moment to write notes of congratulations, encouragement, or advice in a journal that will be given to each of our graduating high school and college seniors.  Even if you are not acquainted with each graduate, please write a note to show them that they are part of the Bridge community.  We want our graduates to know that there is a community of believers here who is praying for them, rooting for them, and always here for them to return to and be part of.

The journals will be available on the back wall (closest to the office) throughout the month of May and will be presented to graduates on June 2nd.

DID YOU KNOW?

280x280_serve.gif

Did you know it takes dozens of people each and every Sunday morning to make our worship service happen?

We believe each and every one of us has God-given ways in which we can serve the church.  If you would like to serve and you're not sure how we would love to help you find your spot!

In his last sermon, Jesus directed the mission of the church (Matthew 25). “When you see the hungry feed them. When you encounter the homeless give them shelter. When you are aware of those imprisoned or alone, visit them. When you do these things for others, you will meet me.”

Among our core values at The Bridge is being a community of believers who seek to live out this mission. We know that this requires we ask tough questions about faith and our lives. We believe that this compels us to be present in our communities among those who have been turned away from churches, or who do not believe the church cares about them. We are convicted that the church can be God’s agent for change in our world.

We are focusing a spotlight on issues that impact our communities. Housing issues, child poverty, equal rights for all, the crippling impact of debt on families. During the year we will look through the lens of this spotlight on these issues. We will learn, we will engage, and we will act.

As Jesus said, “When you do these things for others, you will meet me.”
